Sushi Ishijima

A very intimate setting with great quality sushi and service! Made a reservation beforehand and one of our guests was absent, but they accommodated our omakase course to its fit (definitely felt full by the end of it). Didn’t catch the chef’s name, but he was so kind and would explain each piece of sushi in English for us. Sushi was very fresh, and the rice also had a nice balance of vinegar to it. Came in during lunch time and considering the amount and quality of food, it was very much worth it!

Located in Ginza, Sushi Ishijima is hidden away in the less busy end of the city, across from a small park. The restaurant primarily offers sushi omakase, with some daily specials available to be ordered on the day. The chef and wait staff understands limited English and the majority of customers spoke in Japanese. As expected for a restaurant in Ginza, fish was extremely fresh. I recommend that you make a booking well in advanced, and keep an eye out for promotions as sometimes they offer lunch specials at a discounted price compared to the dinners. Food wise, the rice had a balanced amount of vinegar and I extremely liked the prawn - so much roe, so sweet. For the area, good value for money for what you get. Will recommend

I think, I eat the most wonderful sushi at this restaurant. The sushi taste very authentic and fresh and also melting in the mouth. The Sushi chef is very skillfull, profesional and look like that sushi is the way of life. The most wonderfull taste based on my rate are : maguro or Otoro and crab. This restaurand is Omakase service, so you will be served by chef recommendation. Better you take the appoinment first before your coming.

I visited this restaurant for lunch. Highly recommend for anyone who hasn't experienced the genuine sushi experience. I made a phone reservation for the 8800 yen course. When I called to let them know that I wouldn't make it on time due to transportation trouble on the day of the reservation, they kindly adjusted the time for me. I was fascinated not only by the quality of the sushi but also by the sight of the two chefs crafting it. The recommended chilled sake was excellent, and I was very satisfied with the recommended sushi of the day, which I ordered extra. There were several foreign visitors on the day of my visit, but the head chef spoke fluent English, so I felt confident recommending this place to my friends in the states.

Wait for 2 hours to get the 1650-yen lunch set. I think it's worth since sushi are so delicious! Btw, you can reserve and get extra for 4000 yen.

Another level sushi. Fish that melts in your mouth. The attention of the chef, the quality of the fish and the great wine... For me and my family it was a complete culinary experience (3 adults and 2 teenagers). We made a reservation one month ahead.

Went for Omakase lunch.(sushi chef’s choice) It was a quite long cue 5 minutes before the opening restaurant. It’s worth the Wait. Frankly speaking the portion was not enough for me however There was no extra as on. Therefore, if you have a choice regular or large size lunch, choose large At the beginning. Dinner is quite pricy. Excellent Variation of sake. Quality of fresh fish and Sea urchin etc
